The Center for Advanced Studies in Music and Performing Arts (Centro de Estudos Superiores de Música e das Artes do Espectáculo - CESMAE), created in the 25th of January 2011 by a protocol signed between the City of Tomar's Municipality, the Tomar's Polytechnic Institute, the Gualdim Pais Philharmonic Society and the Lisbon and Tagus Valley Turism, promotes the postgraduate education and research , artistic training (technologic and professional), and dissemination of emerging technologies, materializing the bet in the socio-cultural and economic development of the region, establishing itself as a tool that prospect qualified development, at a cultural and touristic level, of the Tomar's Municipality productive fabric , regarding to qualification and training in those areas.
